What Is Flappy Sound?
Flappy Sound is a collection of free, voice-powered browser games where your microphone is the controller. Instead of tapping a screen or pressing keys, you use the power of your own voice — volume, pitch, and rhythm — to play. Every game runs entirely in your browser, on any device with a microphone, with nothing to download or install.
Our Games
We currently offer four unique voice-controlled experiences, each designed to be fun, accessible, and instantly playable:
- Flappy Sound — The original. Control a flying character with the volume of your voice. Speak louder to rise, softer to fall, and navigate through obstacles. Simple to learn, surprisingly tricky to master.
- Scream Meter — How loud can you go? Scream Meter measures the peak volume of your voice and lets you compete for the highest decibel reading. A crowd favorite at parties and classrooms alike.
- Pitch Bird — Precision meets vocal range. Instead of volume, Pitch Bird responds to the pitch of your voice. Hum high to climb and low to descend. It's a fresh twist that rewards vocal control.
- Beat Shout — Voice-powered rhythm gaming. Shout, clap, or make noise in time with on-screen beats. Hit the right timing to rack up combos and high scores.
How It Works
When you grant microphone access, your browser uses the Web Audio API to analyze incoming sound in real time. We measure properties like volume (amplitude) and pitch (frequency) and translate them directly into game input — all within a few milliseconds.
Crucially, no audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. Every bit of processing happens locally on your device. The moment you close the page, the microphone stream ends and nothing is saved.
