How to Play

Beat Shout is a voice-powered rhythm sound game. Instead of pressing buttons, you shout, clap, or make any sound to hit the beats โ€” it's all about sound match timing. Synthesized drum patterns play in real time — your job is to match sound to the rhythm.

1

Choose Your Style

Pick from 7 music styles: Pop, Rock, EDM, Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Disco, or Random. Each has its own BPM, rhythm pattern, and personality.

2

Listen to the Beat

Synthesized kick drums, snares, and hi-hats play the rhythm. The beats scroll from right to left toward a red target line. Listen first, then start shouting.

3

Shout on the Beat

When a beat block reaches the target line, make a sound. Your timing determines the grade: Perfect (within 70ms), Good (within 150ms), or Miss (too late).

4

Build Combos & Score Big

Consecutive hits build a combo multiplier. A 10x combo means each Perfect is worth 200 points instead of 100. One miss resets your combo to zero. The round lasts 32 seconds.

Music Styles

Each style features a unique rhythm pattern built from synthesized drum sounds โ€” a true sound match experience. No external audio files are used — every kick, snare, and hi-hat is generated in real time by the Web Audio API. This makes Beat Shout one of the most accessible relaxing games online.

Pop · 110 BPM

Classic pop four-on-the-floor. Steady kick-snare alternation with hi-hat groove. Easy to follow, great for beginners.

The crowd-pleaser
Rock · 120 BPM

Driving rock beat with snare backbeat. Builds tension with double-kick fills in later bars. Faster than Pop, more energy.

Head-banging required
EDM · 128 BPM

Four-on-the-floor with snare build-ups. Fastest fixed pattern. Hi-hat rolls add texture. Tests your speed and stamina.

Drop the beat
Hip-Hop · 90 BPM

Boom-bap groove with wide spacing. Swing feel, syncopated kicks. Slower but tricky — the off-beats catch you off guard.

Laid-back but lethal
Reggaeton · 95 BPM

The iconic "dem bow" rhythm. Infectious kick-snare pattern that's impossible not to move to. Medium pace, high addictiveness.

Impossible to resist
Disco · 118 BPM

Groovy four-beat with open hi-hat accents and snare on 2 and 4. Dance-floor energy with a retro pixel twist.

How It Works

Beat Shout uses the Web Audio API for both input and output. On the input side, your microphone feeds into an AnalyserNode that detects volume spikes — the moment your sound crosses the threshold, the game checks timing against the nearest beat.

On the output side, three types of drum sounds are synthesized in real time: Kick drums use a sine oscillator with rapid frequency sweep from 150 Hz to 30 Hz. Snare drums combine filtered white noise with a short body tone. Hi-hats use high-pass filtered noise with fast decay.

Audio scheduling uses the AudioContext clock for sample-accurate timing. Beats are scheduled 200ms ahead to prevent dropouts, while the visual display and hit detection run on the same clock — ensuring perfect audio-visual synchronization.

All processing happens entirely in your browser. No audio is recorded or transmitted. This instant-play design makes Beat Shout an ideal relaxing mobile game or relaxing PC game โ€” open the page and start playing in seconds, whether you're on an iPhone, Android, or desktop.

A Relaxing Rhythm Game You Can Play Anywhere

Despite the word "shout" in its name, Beat Shout is surprisingly one of the best relaxing games available online. The repetitive rhythm patterns, visual flow of beat blocks, and satisfying feedback loop of hits and combos create a state of calm focused attention that players find deeply absorbing.

Whether you prefer the laid-back groove of Hip-Hop at 90 BPM or the driving energy of EDM at 128, there's a pace for every mood. Many players use Beat Shout as a relax game during breaks โ€” a quick 32-second session resets focus and reduces stress, making it one of the top relaxing games online.

Beat Shout works as a free relaxing game on any device: a relaxing iPhone game, a relaxing PC game, or a relaxing mobile game on Android. No downloads, no installations โ€” just open and play. It's games calm meets rhythm in the best way possible.

Tips for a Higher Score

Listen Before You Shout

The first few beats scroll in with the drum track. Use this time to feel the rhythm before you start shouting. Your ears are more accurate than your eyes for rhythm.

Clap Instead of Shout

Clapping produces a sharper, more precise volume spike than shouting. It's easier to time and less tiring over 32 seconds. Short, sharp sounds beat sustained noise.

Protect the Combo

A long combo is worth more than a few extra Perfects. If you're unsure about timing, it's better to shout slightly early than to miss entirely and lose your multiplier.

Start with Hip-Hop

At 90 BPM with wide spacing, Hip-Hop is the most forgiving style. Master it first, then work your way up to EDM's 128 BPM density.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The game is about timing, not melody. If you can clap along to a song, you can play Beat Shout. The visual targets and audio cues make it accessible to everyone.

Random mode generates unpredictable beat patterns with varying intervals. Since there's no repeating rhythm to hear, we removed the drum track — you play purely by watching the targets scroll toward the line.

Any sound above the volume threshold triggers a hit — a shout, a clap, a snap, tapping the desk, or even saying "ha." The game measures volume spikes, not specific sounds.

No. All drum sounds are synthesized in real time using the Web Audio API — oscillators for kick drums, filtered noise for snares and hi-hats. No audio files are loaded or streamed.

Yes! Clapping or snapping your fingers works just as well as shouting, and it's much quieter. You can also tap your desk near the mic. Any sharp volume spike registers as a hit.
